Search engine giant, Google has created another attractive product in Google AdWords Express for advertising your business for local customers – in just a few clicks, linking up your Advertising and Maps Listings.
Local businesses, in search of customers within their local area can now capitalise on a free business listing with Google AdWords Express. A large percentage of local customers already make use of web search when researching certain products and services. Now local businesses can advertise themselves on Google and Google Maps (including mobile devices) by adding this new feature in an effort to attract their targeted customer to their website or Google Places page.
Initially launched as Google Boost in October 2010 for a small number of U.S businesses, Google has improved on this product in leaps and bounds, now enabling all local businesses new to online advertising to be able to reach their customers with ease. Specifically designed to help local businesses that aren’t already Google AdWords advertisers, now it is even simpler to reap the benefits of an effective campaign. Google AdWords Express is a simple, easy and fast way of appealing to the target audience that best suits your product or service – and it all takes just a few minutes to set up.
Businesses can set up a monthly budget for their ad and Google will determine what search keywords will trigger it to appear based on a selection of categories. All you have to do is provide some basic business information, create an ad and your campaign is virtually set to go.
Payment is determined by the number of clicks that the ad receives. That’s it – you, as the business owner set up the ad and Google will automatically manage the rest, ensuring that you advertise yourself to the audience that is already interested and using online search for what products and services you have to offer.
Once created the ad will appear above or beside an interested user’s search results. Your business will also be marked with a blue pin on Google Maps, ensuring that any potential customers can easily find you. Best of all, your potential customers will be able to find your business whether searching by laptop or mobile device.
Google AdWords Express will only be effective for local businesses interested in attracting customers who both live and shop within or happen to be in the same local area at the time of their search. This will make using this product a little difficult for business that cast a wider net with their advertising. This new product is likely to be most effective with the likes of local coffee shops, day spas, optometrists and any others who cater to a specifically local client base.
