These decisions could change everything; fewer people would buy that specific car and move to the better option...
Look at another example: you want to buy a new pc, what effect does that have on the environment?
What about looking for recipes for a specific fish that you are going to have for dinner?
What effect would you have on the environment and the population of that species?
What if there was an article which beat this recipe to first place and could have an effect on the consumption of that fish by offering better alternatives?
We SEO's have a chance to control how people perceive the environment and how consumers make their choices, so why not make it better?

You can do your bit by sharing articles that point fingers at dirty brands, create blogs, post on forums, use your social sites and they will climb the search engine rankings and change minds. Don't think that the brands will just fold up and die, because these awareness articles will change brands into better, cleaner and greener brands.
